Greetings Briarlake Beavers,

Our fifth week of school is almost over and next week will
be busy with our PTA meeting, Ice Cream Social, and Campus
Beautification. Make sure to put these on your calendar.

Ice Cream Social
|
|
 Plan to attend the Ice Cream Social on September 15th
immediately following the 6pm PTA meeting. The theme is
"School Spirit" and we encourage everyone to wear their
Briarlake T-shirts and learn the new Briarlake Beaver song!
"We are Beavers, Briarlake Beavers
When we get in
trouble, we give the Beaver
call!" (Beaver Noises)
Think about why
you love Briarlake, there will be a banner for everyone to write down
their thoughts.

Fernbank Science
Center - "Science Night Out"
|
Fernbank Science
Center announces Science Night Out, a repeat of its very popular
program for young students. Science Night Out is an evening packed with
hands-on activities for kids. The programs are staffed by Fernbank
staff and volunteers.
Who: fun, loving science-aware 3rd - 6th grade students
When: Friday evenings, 6:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m. 2009 dates: 9/25, 11/6
Where: Fernbank Science Center
Fee: $15.00 per student per night ($10 each addtl. sibling)
Mail Registration is available on the website.

Sept. 11)!!!
* Make checks
payable to "Briarlake PTA" (Write one check for
entire order. One check per student.)
* There is NO sales tax on orders placed through catalog.
* If you sold items on the Internet ONLY and are not
sending in a catalogue order form, please send a note in your SF envelope
and mark it "Internet Sales Only". Include the
student name, homeroom, total number of items and dollars sold.
Could not
participate in Sally Foster, but still want to support our
school? Make a donation to "Briarlake
PTA" to help us continue to support important school programs,
as well as our playground fund. Thanks for supporting
Briarlake!!!
The Fur Bus is
Coming!!!!
All children who sold $150 or more of Sally Foster are invited to ride
the Fur Bus the morning of Wednesday, September 30th. A letter will
be sent home next week to all qualifying students.
A big thank you to all the families that participated in Sally Foster!

We need a few more members to meet our goal for September. If you haven't
signed up yet please do so - you will have an opportunity at the Ice
Cream Social.

Open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays before school--7:35-8:00

Emory LaVista Parent Council - Website
The ELPC meets the third Wednesday of each month. Refreshments begin at
8:45AM, followed by the meeting at 9:15AM

As
with most things in life, learning to use the spell check with our new
e-blast program is a process. Thank you for your funny anecdotes
