Meetings are open to the public.
The members of the School Council are accountable to
the constituents they serve and shall:
Maintain a school-wide perspective on issues;
Regularly participate in school council meetings;
Participate in information and training programs;
Act as a link between the school council and the community;
Encourage the participation of parents and others within the school community; and
Work to improve student attendance, achievement and performance.
The Briarlake School Council is currently comprised of five parents, two teachers, and the principal. School Council members serve for a two-year term. The School Council meets approximately 5 times a year and is concerned
with matters of student achievement and school improvement.
Current parent representatives are Nicole Stearns, Racquel Mason is serving as vice-chair, Nina Roberts,
Loretta Salzano-Vanni is serving as secretary,
and Angela Hansberger is serving as chair. Stephanie Spencer and Farren Avret are the teacher representatives.
