BOX
TOPS
Continue clipping Box
Tops. Look for Box Tops on many different
products, not just food. Bring them to school in
August!
School Store Hours
Open Tuesdays, Wednesdays
and Fridays before school--7:35-8:00 a.m.
Volunteers needed! Contact Ellen Kersh to
help.
Entry to School After the summer's break-in,
the county installed a new front door entry system. This
new system is a bit tricky. To obtain entry when the
front doors are locked, you must push the bell-button on
the LEFT of the double doors, await confirmation from
the office by speaker, listen for a click,& then
quickly open the LEFT door. The office staff does not
have a remote-door- opener any more, so please be
patient. | |

PTA. It is open to all Briarlake students who may enter
in any of the five categories: Literature, Visual
Arts, Musical Composition, Photography, and Dance &
Film/Video Production. There will be a box in the front office

| School Pictures-
September 1 |
Picture Day is
Coming!
We will
be taking individual fall pictures on Wednesday, September
1st. We need to get pictures of everyone: every student, every
teacher and all staff so please come prepared. These pictures
will be used for the yearbook so we would like to have
everyone included. Please note that the fall pictures are not
themed so no props or costumes, just regular, colorful
outfits. You don't need to fill out anything beforehand; each
person will get their proof packet with an order form by the
end of September.
Class pictures will be taken in
the Spring--Not on September 1.
We will
need volunteers for this event and volunteering comes with
benefits! It's easy and fun and
goes really quickly - we shoot from 8:00 am until around
lunch. You can email me directly to sign up to
volunteer.

Campus Work Day of the new year Saturday, August 28th, 2010 9:45-1:00 pm (following the playground ribbon
cutting) Help make Briarlake a great place to learn inside
and out. We will be sprucing up the grounds for the
fall. No special skills are required and kids are always
welcome on campus work days. Just bring gloves, rakes,
shovels, and wheelbarrows, if you have them.
We need to create a stepping stone path for
Ms. Fields' students to her trailor. It gets messy on rainly
days. Come out an lend a hand! Email Stephanie Byrne or Sarah Cook
with
questions.

Girls on the Run is a
nationwide program that recognizes that every girl is special,
that every girl is strong, and that every girl is a
winner! Using the joy of running, our curriculum teaches
girls about health, positive body image, self-esteem and
community service. Our running workouts and games teach
specific life skills such as how to make healthy decisions,
resolve conflict, set goals and get along in a group. No
running experience necessary! We work with girls from
3-5th grade at all athletic abilities. This program is
so much more than running! The Briarcliff
Chapter will meet for 1.5 hours, two times a week for 10
weeks, on Tuesdays, 4-5:30 pm and Sundays, 2-3:30 pm starting
on September 14th, 2010. Fall
